Saratoga Springs scored 20 in the first half. Timpview made a great run in the second. As the clock ran down they came up 1 yard short for the 1st down while in scoring position that could have won the game. Mel, Deb, and Zach made the trip to Provo to support Coleman. Great effort Cole!

How do we sum up an entire summer? Maddy worked her butt off in cheerleading and gymnastics, Coleman kicked butt in baseball and football, Morgan gave an all-star performance in softball, Tanner worked both sides of the plate in baseball, and Faith learned what a plate was. Oh yeah! And the Red Sox are winning the Wild Card race in the American League!

Actually, it was a busy summer and it would be impossible to cover everything. Here is a sampling...

Happy Birthday Maddy!

We celebrated Maddy's birthday a couple of days early. We all had a good time and Faith also came away happy. Somehow she convinced Maddy to agree to take her along on her first date. Dad said it was ok as long as Faith didn't take her own date. Now we just need to talk about the interview process for Maddy's potential dates.

Hmmm let's see. Morgan is ready for church. Maddy is ready for church. Tanner is ready for church. Coleman is ready for church. Faith is NOT ready for church. Sundays are such a struggle with Faith. She just does not know how to be reverent for three hours of church. We are lucky if she makes it through two meetings. But the big kids are great. Always ready on time!!! Good job guys!

Mike's younger sister Cindy is an amazing Mom. You name it and she can do it. And right now she is doing it all on her own while her husband is serving for the third time in Iraq. Thank you Cindy for supporting your husband and caring for your family while he is serving our country. Pictured below are their two daughters Kailey and Arianna. These girls are always put together from the top of their heads all the way down to their toes. They are the sweetest most affectionate girls. We love you and miss you!

These are the twins Broddock and Rorik. They will be two in July. Cindy and Dave were moving from the East Coast to Utah two summers ago when Cindy's water broke at 33 weeks and these little guys were delivered in Ohio. They were of course small and early so she spent some time out there on her own watching over these two babies while Dave brought the girls out here to Utah and then went back out to get Cindy. Once again . . . I don't know how she does it. But she does and she does it well! They have sinced moved back out to the East Coast so she is out there on her own. We love you and cannot wait to see you all again. Take care! xoxoxoxoxoxo

Today is Mike's youngest brother Rob's birthday. Happy TWENTY 8! Who Raw! We have had the opportunity to have Rob stay with us the past couple of days as he continues his chemo treatments. Faith has been in heaven! She has sure taken a great liking to her Uncle "Wob". She plays for a minute then she looks up and waves at him. She occasionally throws him a kiss and sends a big smile his way. If she cannot see him, she quickly looks all over until she does. And then Rob is so cute with her. He talks to her. He takes a lot of interest in her. So much that we have had a tough time getting her to bed - she wants to stay up and play with Uncle "Wob".

What a pleasure it has been having Rob in our home. We hope that he has felt comfortable there and knows that he is welcome anytime! We appreciate his positive attitude despite the physical trial that he is currently enduring. We love you Rob.

We had a stroller adventure this weekend. It was myself, Morgan, Tanner, and of course Faith. We decided it was a nice day for a walk so we (no not we, I) was a bit overzealous and we decided to walk to Quiznos for a $5 sub. It was around 2:00 pm and I did not realize what a warm day it was out there. We lathered up in sunscreen but as the trip continued I was worried that Faith was getting sunburned. Her face was getting hot, red and sweaty. The kids tried to shadow her as much as possible. Once we finally made it to the sandwich shop I made a few embarrassing phone calls . . . one to my Mom and one to Lala to see if they were anywhere in our vicinity to see if we could catch a ride home. Nana was the closest and very willingly picked us up and drove us home. Thanks Nana. We love you.
It was all worth it though. When we were about half way there and our conversation had gotten quiet - cute Tanner was walking a bit behind me and said, "Thank you Melanie." It melted my heart. Even more than they blazing hot sun. I love these kids. I have the best stepkids EVER!

Coleman had a very busy weekend with his teams! He had a baseball game on Friday night. Then on Saturday he had a baseball practice, two baseball games, and a football practice / tryout. There are no pictures of Coleman because someone left the camera in the car. However, I can tell you that he played hard and worked hard! He came home absolutely exhausted on Saturday night with a little bit of a sunburn. Okay, alot of a sunburn. But I am sure in a couple of days he will be sporting a nice summer tan. Oh and Coleman - don't forget to drink alot of water :).

Rob is going home today! He has been up at LDS hospital just shy of four weeks. He will return again tomorrow for more chemo and his treatments will continue on an outpatient basis. He was told that he would not leave there until he was in remission and that is where he is today. Rob has maintained a positive attitude and endured his treatments well. We love you!

Rob decided on Monday that it was time to shave his head due to his chemo treatments. So Mike and Dave made a night of it at the hospital. And from the looks of these pictures . . . everything turned out fabulous because Rob is still handsome as ever. I hear that all of the single nurses up there are checking their hair, straightening their scrubs, and putting on fresh lipgloss before they enter Rob's room. He is quite the celebrity on the eighth floor. Heck, look at him - can you blame them?

The kids had a chance to go to Hawaii for Spring Break. They brought Faith back this darling Hawaiian dress. I got a darling fish bracelet with tons of different colors on it. Mike got a Hawaii t-shirt and some golf balls. Thanks kids for bringing these surprises home. We love them!

Mike's youngest brother Rob (27 years old) was diagnosed with Leukemia on Wednesday evening. Our family is struggling to get our minds around the challenge that lies ahead. We love Rob and plan to be there with him every step of the journey. Rob has a very infectious smile and a witty sense of humor and know that this will help along the way. Rob will start his chemotherapy today along with a bone marrow biopsy. Please keep Rob in your thoughts and prayers and close to your heart as we take things one day at a time. We love you Rob.

Morgan is a very kind person. She is so sensitive to others.
Morgan is always willing to help around the house.

Morgan enjoys playing basketball and softball and is very athletic. And she is not afraid to play against boys. You go girl!
Morgan knows sign language! And she learned most of it on her own.

We got together for dinner on Sunday with Dave, Chelsea, and Brooklyn. Faith and Brooklyn are 9 weeks apart and this is the first time that they have been able to "play" together. Isn't it interesting that the most exciting toy is the one that the other baby is holding. Share. Let's Share! We really need to get together more often so our girls can practice SHARING! We love you guys!

Maddy tried out for cheerleader at TimpView High yesterday and she made it! We are so proud of her. She has been so worried and anxious about it but she got through it. Good job Maddy! Now we just have to keep the boys away!!!

When Morgan was little she decided she wanted to learn sign language. She had a little boy in one of her classes who was deaf and she felt bad and wanted to learn how to communicate with him. I think when it comes to life experiences like this - Morgan is an old soul. She is so perceptive, I would say even more than most adults. So when Faith was born both she and Maddy said that they would like to teach Faith sign language. So I ordered Baby Signing Times and I am excited for all three girls to get together and watch them. Soon we will be able to talk to each other without the boys knowing what is going on. Well, not completely true because I have caught Mike watching them with Faith too.
